The Council of Urban Professionals’ (CUP) mission is to inspire, elevate, and empower the next generation of diverse business and civic leaders. Currently in our 14th year, we support the career progression of diverse professionals and women in New York and Los Angeles by delivering compelling skill-building programs focused on accelerating careers and enhancing visibility; curating groups of top diverse professionals for impactful conversations and networking opportunities that result in community building, thought leadership, business development; and providing a platform for recognizing diverse talent and inspiring service.

Our vision for the next ten years is to become the voice of diverse professionals and, through the delivery of talent development activities and compelling thought leadership, be a catalyst for the promotion of diverse professionals and women into positions of leadership.

This #GivingTuesday, our goal is to raise $25,000 to support these 2021 offerings:

· CUP Fellows Program2021 marked the 14th year of our landmark NY Fellows Program and the 4th year of our LA Fellows Program, developing 45 successful mid-career professionals in over 10 industries. This highly-selective program provides critical skills and professional development training to propel the Fellows into leadership and c-level positions. The Fellows Program has also prepared talented leaders to choose careers in civic engagement and to win political seats in public office. These programs were sustained in part to last year’s successful #GivingTuesday campaign. 

· CUP Catalysts: In 2021, CUP has celebrated our CUP Catalysts - senior diverse professionals who have achieved extraordinary professional success while making significant and impactful contributions to our community through volunteerism, philanthropy, board service and mentorship. In partnership with our corporate sponsors, CUP recognizes these changemakers throughout the year during our CUP Power Forums, covering the fields of Finance, Law, Media & Entertainment, and Technology.

· CUP Power ForumsCUP Power Forums convene senior level diverse executives and inspirational thought leaders to discuss key transformational trends, provoke action, support business generation and enhance connectivity. CUP delivers these high-level programs featuring insights from c-suite executives from our corporate partners across various sectors. 

· RBC Capital Markets hosted their annual Media Forum 2021 Rethink, Reshape, Reimagine. This virtual event took place on March 17th, and featured a conversation moderated by Melissa Fenton, Executive Director, CUP entitled, Does Your Corporate Culture Match Your Customers? Thought leaders included Marissa Roman Griffith, Partner, Akin Gump Strauss & Feld LLP, Natasha Holiday, Managing Director Municipal Finance, RBC Capital Markets and Nadja Bellan-White, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Vice Media Group shared their stories and proposed solutions to build and sustain a solid corporate culture. 

· Our 14th Annual Wall Street Partners Forum, hosted by Morgan Stanley, took place on September 28th, and featured thought leadership from Co-President, Ted Pick, in conversation with Susan Reid, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion. Panel discussion included Morgan Stanley thought leaders, Ileana Musa, Audrey Choi, Carla Harris, Mandell Crawley, Tejash Patel, and Michael A. Persaud. These leaders shared their personal stories and commitment to diversity and inclusion with the CUP Community. We also recognized CUP's 2021 Finance Catalysts Cohort!

· Our CUP LA Entertainment Power Forum Series, hosted by United Talent Agency, took place on October 20th, and featured thought leadership from Nina Shaw, Founding Partner, Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein Lezcano, Andrea Nelson Meigs, Partner and Agent, United Talent Agency, Will Packer, Founder and CEO, Will Packer Media, Stephanie Allain, Founder and CEO, Homegrown Pictures, Franklin Leonard, Founder and CEO, The Black List and Matt Johnson, Founding Partner, Johnson, Shapiro, Slewett & Kole LLP. These leaders in the entertainment industry shared their insights and proposed solutions to diversity and inclusion with the CUP Community.

· Our 12th Annual Lawyers Forum, in partnership with Paul Hastings, took place on Wednesday, October 27th, and featured thought leadership with Welcome Remarks from Karlie Ilaria Garcia, Global Diversity and Inclusion Director, a fireside chat with Naseem Sagati Aghili, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Ares Management and George Thompson, General Counsel Consumer Lending, Wells Fargo, moderated by Rossie Turman III, Partner, Lowenstein Sandler LLP, CUP Board Member.  We also recognized CUP's 2021 Law Catalysts Cohort!

· Our 2nd Annual Tech Forum in partnership with Meta, took place on Monday, November 15th and discussed "The Future of Measurement" for entrepreneurial diverse professionals and women. We also recognized CUP's 2021 Tech Catalysts Cohort!

· CUP Conversations Series: CUP continued with our stellar CUP Conversations Speaker Series presenting thought leadership webinars and interviews featuring individuals who shared strategies, concepts and tools to educate our CUP Community on a variety of topics including:

  • Thought Leaders Turning Unrest into Systematic and Lasting Change - Black History Month
  • Women in Leadership Teaming Up to Lead, Empower and Thrive - Women's History Month
  • Transforming Truths, Hope and Change - Professor Eddie S. Glaude - Gala Thought Leadership 2021
  • "Mr. Soul! Interview - Melissa Haizlip" - LGBTQ+ Month
  • Abacus Bank - Journey To Justice in America - AAPI Month 
  • Minari - A New Portrait of America - AAPI Month
  • Turning Silence Into Activism - United With Cuban Voices. - Hispanic Heritage Month

· CUP Fellows Spotlights: CUP featured our fellows in their entrepreneurial endeavors to educate our CUP Community including:
